울산 반구대암각화 Ulsan Bangudae Petroglyphs 본 영상은 울산시 울주군 문화도서관과의 국가지정문화유산 촬영허가를 받아서 촬영한 영상입니다 This video was filmed with permission from the Ulsan City Ulju-gun Cultural Library, a nationally designated cultural heritage site. 울산 반구대 암각화는 울산시 울주군 언양읍 태화강 지류하천인 대곡천암벽에 위치한 암각화입니다 제작시기는 신석기후기~청동기초기로 추정되고 있으며 대한민국의 문화재 국보 제285호로 지정되어있으며 2025년 7월 14일에 유네스코 세계유산에 등재되어있습니다 한반도에 현존하는 가장 오래된 암각화이자 고래의 모습과 인류의 포경 활동을 묘사한 세계에서 가장 오래된 그림으로 그 가치가 매우 높습니다 암각화에는 발견초기에는 고래 말고도 야생동물 수렵을 포함해 약 300개가 넘는 그림이 확인되었는데 이후 50년동안 침수에 의한 훼손이 발생한 끝에 현재는 육안으로 식별가능한 그림들이 많이 줄어들어 버렸습니다 대곡천 중류에 있는 반구대중심에는 반고대 유허비가 있으며 그 내용은 이곳이 반고서원의 옛터이며 정몽주,이언적,정구를 모신 서원이었음을 알려줍니다 The Bangudae Petroglyphs in Ulsan are located on the rock face of Daegokcheon Stream, a tributary of the Taehwa River in Eonyang-eup, Ulju County, Ulsan City. They are believed to have been created between the Late Neolithic and Early Bronze Ages. Designated National Treasure No. 285 of the Republic of Korea, they were added to the UNESCO World Heritage List on July 14, 2025. They are the oldest extant petroglyphs on the Korean Peninsula, depicting whales and human whaling activities. As the oldest known image in the world, they are of exceptional value. Initially, over 300 images were identified, including those depicting whales and hunting wild animals. However, after 50 years of flooding, many of the images are now visible to the naked eye. At the center of Bangudae, in the middle reaches of Daegokcheon, stands the Bangudae Ruins Monument.
