Do you know what sort of birthday cake I like? The kind with lots and lots of frosting! Mummy always gets so upset when I lick up all the frosting and leave the cake behind. (Oops!) So, for my 7th birthday, I am going to make myself a birthday letter TART! With a buttery crust, a thick chocolatey ganache, and pillows of fluffy whipped cream. The best part is… it is going to be completely VEGAN! Thanks to the most amazing vegan products from Nuttelex and Orasi! Check out the recipe below! Then wrap it in cling film and refrigerate for 1 hour. • Take the dough out of the fridge after an hour. Flour the rolling pin and roll the dough out onto a sheet of baking paper to about 4 millimeters thick. Using the paper template as a guide, cut the rolled out dough into the same shape. • With the remaining dough, roll out little balls and line them around the perimeter of the letter, creating a wall to hold the tart filling! Freeze the tart for at least 1 hour before baking to help the tart wall retain its shape. • Preheat the oven to 160 degrees. After an hour in the freezer, use a fork and poke some holes into the crust. Arrange the paper template over the crust and pour sugar over it to act as a weight, so that it remains nice and flat. Pop it into a preheated oven at 160 degrees for 50 minutes on the bottom rack. ________________________________________________________ EQUIPMENT TO MAKE A PAPER LETTER TEMPLATE FOR THE TART BASE: • parchment paper • cutting mat • penknife • pencil • ruler ________________________________________________________ VEGAN CHOCOLATE GANACHE RECIPE: • 200g Orasi soy cooking cream • 200g chopped vegan dark chocolate • First, bring 200g of Orasi soy cooking cream to a gentle simmer. • Secondly, pour it over 200g of chopped vegan chocolate. • Thirdly, Cover for 5 minutes. Then stir. It’s that simple! • Next pour the ganache onto the cooled crust, then pop it into the refrigerator to firm up. ________________________________________________________ VEGAN WHIPPED CREAM TOPPING • 200g Orasi vegan whipped cream topping made from rice milk • Pour 200g of it into a mixer and give it a good whisk at medium high speed for 5 minutes until it has stiff peaks. • Divide the whipped cream into 3 bowls and tint them into the colours that you like. Prepare a piping bag with a 1M tip, and prop it over a tall cup. Scoop the whipped cream into the bag, one scoop at a time, rotating amongst the 3 colours. • Now let’s start piping some ombre roses! Beginning at the center of each rose, make a little spiral outwards. Easy peasy! And if there are any gaps, pipe little hydrangeas over to cover them! As an optional finishing touch, garnish with silver sugar balls for some sparkle. ________________________________________________________ xoxo Lauren Fleur #laurenfleurskitchen #veganchocolate #vegantart #easyveganrecipe #kidsveganrecipe
