Many people have asked, sent messages, wondering about the use of 'Kratom' in Thailand. I had no answers to give, because I had to even see the leaf (aside from in photos) - until today! Surprise, 'Kratom' no longer carries any penalties for use, AND its also quite a nice thing to have when hanging out with a sweet Auntie up in the mountains of Mae Hong Son - wow!! In the video, I don't go into much detail, but its just great to. beable. toknow what 'Kratom' is, and have some experience to share with everyone. As you might guess, never having had it before, I didn't learn all the history until I was researching to put this video together, so down below you can find a few more bits of info if you're interested. The drink was wonderful, and very relaxing, but Li only had eyes on a special recipe of Hakka Salt Baked Chicken. As this 'Kratom' drink was just one of many impressive things Auntie whipped up for us (preparing what in the end became a full-on feast at Valley House!), might I invite you to come back for part 2 of this video on Thursday. In Thailand, mainly in the South, it has been commonly used by both the elderly, and/or by day-laborers or workers on the job in fields/plantations/factories, for both of these properties. In more recent times, Kratom has gained fame as a natural therapy for morphine/opium/heroin addiction. It is not illegal, but it can be dangerous when mixed with other chemicals. Due to the low amount of research which currently exists regarding Kratom consumption, I cannot recommend its use to anyone, but I am still happy to have had the experience of drinking this 'Kratom tea' today with Auntie.
