The music and dance express the character, mood, and sentiment of the country people. This is a Tagalog dance. Costume: Girl wears balintawak style costume and Boy wears Barong Tagalog and trousers of any color. Music: composed of two parts A & B in 3/4 time Count: 1,2,3 to a measure Formation: Partners stand opposite each other about 6 feet apart. Girl stands at the right side of Boy when facing the audience. One to any number of pairs may take part in this dance. (Note: A slight variation from the book is taught for the class for simplicity and class performance.)
