New Born Baby Chimp - Cuteness Alert! World's Rarest Chimpanzee Born Meet Jeff! He is a Western Chimpanzee, a critically endangered species, born at chester zoo. He is so special and an important addition to the chester zoo troop, adding security to the survival of this magnificent species of Great Ape This video features New Born Baby Chimp Jeff a Western Chimpanzee the latest Endangered Chimp born at Chester Zoo to Mum Zeezee. Zeezee is an experienced mum and has had other offspring born at the world famous zoo, including Stevie, big sister to little chimp Jeff. In this heartwarming video we get our first glimpses of the adorable new baby chimp and were delighted to see mum Zeezee pass Baby Over To doting Big Sister Stevie, who then takes on the incredibly responsible role of caring for her little brother. The look on Stevie's face just oozes love and affection. Mum Zeezee has so much trust in Stevie and many other chimps in the troop, to help care for the new addition to the chimp family at Chester Zoo which now totals 23 members comprising of 8 Males and 15 Females (as of January 2023) Mum Chimp Hands Baby Over To Big Sister The New Baby Chimp is the first Male Baby chimpanzee to be born at the zoo since Carlos in 2005, the last 3 babies born since 2019 have all been female There was lots of calm during this visit as the chimps were all aware of the new baby and were being very attentive. Zeezee and Stevie were doing a fantastic job keeping order and caring for the chimpanzee baby, whilst keeping the other chimps involved with the newborn. Baby Chimp Jeff was born on 9th December 2022 and spent the first few weeks bonding with the Chester Zoo chimp troop Chester Zoo announced the baby chimps birth on social media 11th January 2023 and later on 17th January 2023 announced that his name is Jeff, named in tribute to Jeff Beck British Rock Guitarist.
