We have three wonderful speakers discussing all aspects of IVIG treatment in PANDAS/PANS. Dr. Tang begins by explaining what IVIG treatment is in the context of PANDAS/PANS, Dr. Calaprice discusses data from a recent study on the economic impacts of IVIG treatment, and Dr. Bokhari discusses how his company, Claimable, is helping families appeal health insurance denials for IVIG therapy. Below is a short bio of each of our distinguished speakers. 1. Angela Tang, MD FACP, obtained her MD from Columbia University and trained in internal medicine at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. She has taught internal medicine and family practice residents at St. Mary Medical Center, Long Beach, and Santa-Monica UCLA Medical Center, and she is an Adjunct Clinical Associate Professor with Stanford University’s Immune Behavioral Health Clinic. 2. Denise Calaprice, PhD, is the Co-founder & Senior Program Advisor at the Brain Inflammation Collaborative. After receiving her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Harvard University and her MS and PhD from Princeton, Dr. Denise Calaprice-Whitty became an NIH fellow at Columbia University’s College of Physicians and Surgeons in the departments of Clinical and Genetic Epidemiology and Child Psychiatry. 3. Warris Bokhari, MD, is a physician, entrepreneur, and CEO & Co-Founder of Claimable, a health-tech company focused on helping patients and families challenge wrongful insurance denials. \ Who We Are: The Brain Inflammation Collaborative is a nonprofit organization dedicated to developing and managing a research-grade database that supports both patients and researchers.
