Indigenous Health leaders describe how Indigenous Self-Identification (ISI) is helping care teams at sites using CST Cerner provide culturally-safe care. The new ISI practice offers a way for patients to confidentially and voluntarily self-identify as Indigenous: First Nations, Inuit or Métis upon arrival at a health care site. Once a patient self-identifies, they are automatically referred through CST Cerner to Indigenous Health. Indigenous Health teams can then quickly respond by providing appropriate cultural supports and services to patients and families. Speakers: Lori Quinn, Operations Director - Emergency, Trauma & ICU (previously Director, Indigenous Experience, Practice, and Quality) VCH and Sherri Di Lallo, Director, Indigenous Health, BC Children’s and Women’s Hospital, Provincial Health Services Authority.
