Sometimes it's all about being at the right place at the right time. I like to browse the reloading and for sale classifieds sections of local forum to see what people are selling as well as current values. Was amazing during the height of the cough to see what the most common, plain and commodity based items were going for. Good to see that time has passed and thing are settling back to something a bit more normal (except for primers!). So, as I'm searching the ads I come across a posting for a Hornady single stage Iron Press that also included a bunch of other goodies: Hornady bench scale, auto priming kit, pickup tubes, Hornady powder measure, LnL bushings, unopened die lock ring, powder funnel and a commercially produced mobile base. I thought to myself, that's a great starter set up and as I'm reading the ad and looking at the pictures I'm mentally formulating what the price could be. OMFG....I was ABSOLUTELY SHOCKED at the listed price. $100...yes, one hundred dollars. I thought it was a typo. So I thought about it for a second and then closed the ad to move on. 30 seconds later I was back in the Iron Press ad looking at it again. Just couldn't believe it...too good to be true. I added up the cost of the individual items and that came to about $730 before tax/shipping. The only item not still available online today was the scale. It's been replaced by the current M2 bench scale model. You can still get that scale if you buy the Hornady Iron Press Kit for about $650 that is still available online today. The mobile bench stand by "thec4m3ron" is a cute idea and I also remember when this first came out...another "I want" but couldn't justify the price of $150 (before tax/shipping) at the time. I don't believe this is available any longer (that I could find) and I think the company has gone under as well. Limited market IMO for something like this. Interesting though. Did I need this press? Nope. I remember when it first came out (in 2016) and thought it was pretty cool....but it was SO expensive (especially compared to a LnL), so I just couldn't justify the spend even if I wanted it. Didn't make sense for me at the time. But, maybe NOW is that time...and considering ALL the goodies included...for ONLY $100 I just couldn't pass it up. So I messaged the seller if it's still available I'd take it. Only issue is it was 100 miles away from me and I'd only be able to pick it up on a weekend. We worked out the date and now I have a Hornady single stage Iron Press. This thing was in great shape and with a little cleaning/polishing, looks (and operates) like new.
