As Campanhas "PELAGO" (sardinha, biqueirão e cavala), "CRUSTÁCEOS" (lagostim e gamba) e Demersal são da responsabilidade do IPMA e estão inseridas no PNAB - Programa Nacional de Amostragem Biológica. Este programa visa, nomeadamente, o aconselhamento sobre a gestão para a exploração sustentável de todas as espécies comerciais no âmbito da Política Comum das Pescas (UE). O PNAB está integrado no Programa Nacional plurianual de Recolha de Dados (PNRD) para 2022-2027. Tem como principais objetivos a recolha, gestão e uso de dados biológicos obtidos da frota comercial registada em Portugal continental (dados dependentes da pesca) e de diversas campanhas de investigação (dados independentes da pesca), bem como realizar a análise cientifica e investigação necessária à produção do conhecimento científico que serve de base ao aconselhamento à gestão para a exploração sustentável de todas as espécies comerciais no âmbito da Política Comum das Pescas (PCP, Regulamento (UE) 1380/2013 do Parlamento Europeu e do Conselho). O PNAB contribui também para vários dos descritores da Directiva Quadro da Estratégia Marinha (DQEM), para a avaliação do Bom Estado Ambiental. Entre as várias campanhas de investigação cientifica realizadas pelo IPMA no âmbito do PNAB, existe: i) A campanha de rastreio acústico de pequenos pelágicos (Campanha PELAGO) que tem como principal objetivo a estimação da distribuição e abundância de sardinha, biqueirão e cavala pelo método de eco-integração e recolha de dados biológicos para estas espécies; ii) A campanha de investigação de crustáceos (Campanha CRUSTÁCEOS - NEPS FU 28-29) visa a estimação dos índices de abundância, da estrutura de comprimentos e a distribuição espacial das espécies de lagostim e gamba, espécies-alvo principais nas Unidades Funcionais 28 e 29 (Alentejo e Algarve, respetivamente); tem também como objetivo a estimação dos índices de abundância e a estrutura por comprimentos de espécies-alvo secundárias ou espécies acompanhantes, nomeadamente o camarão-vermelho, o verdinho, os leitões e o peixe-relógio; tem ainda como objetivo estudar outras características biológicas das diferentes populações (particularmente relativas à reprodução), recolher dados para estudos de biodiversidade e lixo marinho (DQEM) e a recolha de dados ambientais (temperatura e salinidade); iii) A campanha de investigação demersal (Campanha DEMERSAL) que visa a estimação dos índices de abundância/biomassa e de recrutamento de pescada, carapau e sua distribuição geográfica, a estimação da abundância/biomassa de outras espécies de interesse comercial e descrição do seu padrão de distribuição e a recolha de dados para Indicadores da biodiversidade e lixo marinho (DQEM). EN: PNAB is integrated in the multi-annual National Programme for Data Collection (PNRD) for 2022-2027. Its main objectives are to collect, manage and use biological data obtained from the commercial fleet registered in mainland Portugal (fisheries-dependent data) and from various research campaigns (fisheries-independent data), as well as to carry out the scientific analysis and research necessary to produce the scientific knowledge that serves as basis for management advice for the sustainable exploitation of all commercial species under the Common Fisheries Policy (CFP, Regulation (EU) 1380/2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council). It also contributes to several of the descriptors of the Marine Strategy Framework Directive (MSFD) for the assessment of Good Environmental Status. Among the various scientific research surveys carried out by IPMA within the scope of PNAB, there is: i) The fishery acoustics survey for small pelagics (PELAGO) whose main objective is to estimate the distribution and abundance of sardine, anchovy and mackerel by the eco-integration method and collect biological data for these species; ii) The crustaceans survey (CRUSTACEOS survey - NEPS FU 28-29) which aims to estimate the abundance indices and length structure of the Norway lobster and rose shrimp, the main target species in Functional Units 28 and 29 (Alentejo and Algarve, respectively), as well as their spatial distribution; also aims the estimation of the abundance indices and length structure of secondary target species or companion species, namely red shrimp, blue whiting, blackmouth catshark and orange roughy; it also aims to study other biological characteristics of different populations (particularly concerning their reproduction), to collect data for biodiversity and marine litter studies (MSFD) and to collect environmental data (e.g., temperature and salinity); iii) The demersal research survey (DEMERSAL survey) aims to estimate the abundance/biomass and recruitment indices of hake, horse mackerel and their geographical distribution, to estimate the abundance/biomass of other species of commercial interest and to describe their distribution pattern and collect data for biodiversity and marine litter indicators (MSFD).
