📌 Between Obstacles and Impact: 25 Years of Women, Armed Conflict, and Attempts at Peace in the MENA Region This CSW69 side event, led by UN Women and the Issam Fares Institute, explores the progress, challenges, and future of the Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) agenda in the Middle East and North Africa. Despite the adoption of UNSCR 1325, women in conflict-affected areas remain marginalized in formal peace processes, despite their essential role in conflict prevention, mediation, and social cohesion.
