Land of nomads. There are not many places left in the world where people lead the same way of life, practically without changing their way of life for thousands of years. How do they manage to keep traditions in this changing world, why do they wander and how does it happen? To answer these questions, we went to the Republic of Tyva. In terms of the diversity of nature, Tuva, perhaps, knows no equal. Here, in a small area, you can see almost all types of terrestrial landscapes. Deserts and steppes, taiga forests and tundra - you can visit all these zones after driving just a hundred kilometers. Such unique natural conditions are associated with the location and relief of Tyva. The Republic is located in the very center of Asia. From all sides it is protected by mountains, only from the south it is open to the steppes and deserts of Mongolia. Two mountain systems, elongated in the latitudinal direction, cross Tyva - in the north the Western Sayan, in the south - Tannu-ola. Between them is the Tuvan basin, the homeland of most of the nomads of Tuva.
