In this video, we'll explore the components needed to build a complete commercial Reverse Osmosis (RO) system. A thermostatic mixing valve ensures the water's temperature is optimal for osmosis, while a reduced pressure zone assembly backflow preventer ensures compliance with safety codes. We use a water softener to replace calcium with sodium and carbon media to absorb chlorine and chloramines. The water then enters the membranes, producing permeate (purified product water) and concentrate (waste water). After the RO membranes, we focus on the permeate and, if needed, run it through special deionization media and cartridge filters. We use TDS or conductivity monitors to maintain purity levels and deliver the water using a stainless steel booster pump. The high-purity water distribution system may include a return loop and additional deionization media filters to maintain ultra-pure water quality levels. All of this equipment can be combined into one packaged skid, pre-piped, and pre-wired to a single control panel with a single-point electrical connection.
