Prime Minister Mark Carney is admitting he was wrong to call for de-escalation after the United States and Israel launched strikes on Iran. Speaking to reporters, Carney said that in hindsight his initial call to lower tensions was a mistake. The prime minister’s comments come after several days of shifting positions from Ottawa. Carney initially endorsed the strikes, later called for diplomacy, then suggested the attacks may violate international law before now walking back his call for de-escalation.
