However, if you look and listen closely and long enough, it starts to feel cold. The second is dusk in the middle of winter. It is cold, but if you look for long enough, you will feel a warmth coming over you. Observe these two landscapes for a few minutes, looking and listening closely. Can you tell which scene is winter and which is autumn just by listening? For this exercise, focus on the characteristics of these two seasons. These scenes were shot almost five months apart. Good to know! They were also shot at different times of day. How do you feel in the first and second scenes? Did you feel cold? Is it more the sound or the visuals that make you feel warm? The cold winter announces itself early in the first scene, which is set in autumn. The bitter wind is in a hurry, but autumn has only just begun. Gradually, the seasons merge and avoid confrontation. The silence of winter is audible... 🧘 Inspirational thought Many people prefer autumn as their favourite season. Looking at this early autumn scene and a winter scene at dusk, it is hard to tell the difference. Winter is a warmer season, although it is actually colder. We tend to view spring and autumn as the 'in-between' seasons between summer and winter. Why do we tend to like the transitional seasons even though summer and winter are so short? Developing this exercise made me think about the many ways to relax and connect with nature. All of these focus on harmony rather than the confrontation between two seasons. How can we practice our senses by experiencing this juxtaposition? Do you have any ideas or suggestions for reading? I am developing a collection of unique spots / views that together tell a story and capture the essence of this place in the French Gaume region, the Grand Est of France. First, observe these landscapes closely and precisely, twice if necessary. Open up and embrace the power and beauty of these landscapes, using all of your senses. Slowly and consiously. 🗺️ Filmed In: Pays de Montmédy and Gaume, in the Lorraine region of France 🕰️ Chapters 00:34 – Opening monologue about the changing of the seasons: Autumn 05:25 – Landscape 2: Winter (dusk) 08:50 – Instructions for the exercise 💬 Like this video?
