I was fortunate to have an opportunity to play a course on my local golf Bucket List. RTJ lived up to my expectations and beyond. RTJ is a true second shot golf course because while you may not be penalized off the tee you can be greatly penalized in your approach if errant. GIR can be hard to come by especially with the wind. The bunkering is well executed throughout the course really shines around the greens. The Course is a true test of your all around game. The course starts off as a very fun inland 9 holes and as you approach the Lake the course's beauty really starts to shine. The back nine plays along Lake Manassas providing many challenges and amazing views. The course also has very good elevation change yet is an easy walk. One of the best courses in Virginia and the County Robert Trent Jones course a true gem. Ranked the 3rd best course in Virginia and the 133 courses in America. RTJ has hosted the PGA tour (2015) and Multiple Presidents Cups (1994, 1996, 2000, 2005). I also rarely mention clubhouses and practice facilities but RTJ has one of the finer clubhouses and best areas in America. RTJ unfolds like a great story each hole better than the last, drawing you in more and more as your round progresses.
