It borrows a number of elements from that game such as the Superball powerup and various enemies such as the Flies, Dragonzamasus, and King Totomesus while keeping around other Mario staples such as Shy Guys. Instead of saving Daisy, Mario has to save his usual damsel in distress Peach from a mysterious enemy.
