I know that sounds like a strong statement, but in my experience discounting hurts your profit, your brand, and even your referrals. There’s a much smarter way to close deals without weakening your position. This idea goes all the way back to something my dad taught me years ago when he owned car dealerships. Once you understand the logic behind it, it completely changes the way you think about pricing, sales, and negotiation. Instead of discounting, a much better strategy is to add value — often in the form of thoughtful gifts or bonuses that cost you far less than the perceived value to the client.
