Noida Lift Accident on 3rd August 2023 Lift accident in Paras Tiera Noida There was a fatal Lift accident in Noida on 3rd August 2023. One woman aged 73 according to police, has been identified as Sushila Devi, who lived in a flat on eighth-floor flin Tower 24 of Paras Tierea residential society sector 137 Noida . Some Media reports says Lift cables / Ropes breaks and Lift Fell Down from 8th Floors to 2nd Basement. Other Media report also says that Woman has died of Heart Attack. Another media report says that woman body was found at 25th Floor and rescue Team has to Break open Lift doors to take out the Body. Surely this is very sad incident and whole of Elevator Industry is deeply concerned . Every one Wants to know what had happened actually. Since Police has sealed the Lift permises , it is difficult to know adject causes . However some points need the attention . 1. Woman boarded the Lift from 8th Floor and was going down to Ground floor. If cables / Ropes Breaks and Lift had a free Fall to Basement , then how come Lift went to 25th Floor after that . 2. We all know that there must be atleast 5 to 6 ropes ( considering the Height of 26 Floors ) . It is very diificult that all the ropes breaks together simultaneously until there is some sabotage. Therefore chances of a Free Fall is low. 3. Even if All ropes breaks which means Free Fall and therefore OSG + Safety Gear should have operated . 4. If there is Free Fall, that means CWT must have also fallen . If Cwt falls from that height in basement , it must have made a very big bang sound. It should have alerted some one. However as per media reports it took one hour before they could rescue woman body. 5. Media reports also says Residents has complained about poor maintenance of Lifts in that Society earlier also. And there was incident of Free Fall earlier also. This seems absurd and clearly indicate that there is different meaning of Free Fall for media or residents . Free Fall for Elevator Industry is a very serious matter and need further investigation. 6. Unconfirmed Report also says that these Lifts were maintained by Third party and not by OEM. It is not a healthy sign and must be investigated weather third party maintenance team were qualified or trained enough to handle this kind of Lifts. Many a time untrained unqualified third party are engaged for commercial reasons. This also highlight the importance that the maintenance work of Lifts should be awarded to OEM or Only to Qualified Trained third party. 7. some media reports says, Lift has not fallen to Ground Floor. it got stuck in between . kindly feel free to share your views opinion or comments.
