John Deere 420 430 Two Stage Clutch Rebuild
In this video I cover the disassembly and rebuild of the two stage clutch removed from my 1960 John Deere 430 Two Cylinder tractor. This is the same type of clutch that would be used on 420 and 430 gas two cylinder tractors of the Dubuque era equipped with live power take off, specifically 1957 thru 1960. Model 40, 320, 330, 420, 430, and 440 tractors not equipped with live power take off used a simpler, single stage clutch. My techniques and tools are probably not the industry standard, my approach to what is removed/installed is random and haphazard. Obviously I have no training or credentials that justify me walking anyone thru this process or this project. I do have years of experience working on/restoring my own tractors; I also have a doctorate degree that justifies the "Doc" in "TractorDoc." Listen to what I say and do what I do at your own risk.
