Choose the narrow niche for your newsletter, and then deliver consistently in that niche. Hammering on the same theme week after week is good for the early days: • People know what you’re writing about. • They know what to expect • They know what problem you’re going to solve. But this is a short-sighted strategy. In the long term, people will grow out of the problem you’re solving. If you try to be a one-dimensional caricature of a person, someone who thinks about SEO or productivity 24/7, your audience will move on. Instead, share your life with them! Whether you put these in the context of your larger topic or not, anything is fair game for your newsletter: • Talk about your family. • Talk about the weird side business you’re starting. • Talk about that new investment you’re excited about. Let your audience grow alongside you. If you’re in your twenties, and 20-year-olds start following you, they should follow you into their thirties.
