Dibs — Smart Study Room Kiosk System | NYU SLDP Demo

Dibs is a smart study room management system built for NYU's Dibner Library. It uses a Raspberry Pi 5 with a touchscreen kiosk outside the room and an ESP32-S3 camera module inside to handle reservations, check-ins, walk-in bookings, and real-time occupancy detection — all synced through Google Calendar. The system was designed to solve ghost bookings, room theft, and no-show reservations by automating check-in enforcement with a 10-minute grace period and computer vision-based occupancy verification.
