NRI - No Regular Items. ie, no accessing the Items or Quick Pockets commands inside or outside battle. Also, no Auto Phoenix/Med/Potion armor abilities. Use command and Mix ovedrive are allowed. NS - No Summons. You can't summon except when forced to. (Exceptions: Forced Garuda battle in Besaid, forced fights against Isaaru.) NDG - No Dropped Gear (from bosses). NTNGNFB - No Threaten, No Gravity attacks, No "Full Break" Skill. NNE - No [No Encounters] auto-ability. NTQ - No Trio of 9999/Quartet of 9 Mixes. Alongside with those restrictions, I will also do a progression lock where you will not be allowed to do postgame stuffs (Cavern of the Stolen Fayth and beyond) before beating BFA & Yu Yevon. This is to ensure BFA is at its intended difficulties. There are 3 most problematic things that you need to deal with on NRI and NS restrictions in this area, that is the Evil Eye, the Bombs, and MP management. For the Evil Eye, normally a Potion + Cure combo can kill it, but with NRI that's no longer the case. I had bought a Strength+5% weapon from Besaid shop for Wakka hoping that his attack + Cure will kill it, but apparently it's not 100% guaranteed, you need to have high damage roll on both of them to kill it I think. If I think about it right now, it was probably better to use Water + Cure instead for the guaranteed kill, and then use Wakka if it was still safe to save MP. The Bombs on itself was not too much of a problem, it becomes dangerous on the second & third area where they will come in groups of 3, groups of 2 alongside with Dual Horn, or just one but with 2x Evil Eye alongside. If you come across these group often then your MP is gonna be drained a lot, and if I counted correctly, I encountered these group with a total of 5 times this session, even got an ambushed on one of them, how lovely. Near the end of the road, Yuna was at 0 MP and I don't have any OD left. I'll probably will never forget the feeling I got when I was greeted with 3x Bombs at that point lol, it's probably one of my stressful moments in the mod so far. Thankfully I got lucky and managed to survive, I even tried to farm Wakka's OD there by purposely Dark Attack a dying Bomb, so that I can use his OD for the final run to the next screen. Well, in general I think the Fire Ward armor from the Luca shop will help a lot here, especially if you encounter the Bombs a lot like I did. I bought one for Lulu and I definitely get a game over if I don't. Buying one for Auron is also probably very good because he will be facing the Bombs most of the time. For the MP management, trying to find a time to heal during battle instead of the menu will also help a lot.
