Star Citizen Alpha 4.7 PTU armor testing continues — and this time I went BIG. In this video I tested the Idris, focusing on: • How long its main gun takes to destroy ships • Which weapons can actually damage heavy armor • And most importantly — how the armor system really behaves After extensive testing, the results point to something very interesting. Right now, armor doesn’t seem to behave like a traditional physical layer. Instead, it feels more like a global protection field surrounding the ship. If you continuously hit a single point with a weapon capable of damaging armor, once that “armor HP” is depleted — the entire armor layer effectively shuts down, not just that specific area. At that point, the ship becomes vulnerable and can be destroyed much more easily with almost any weapon. If this is how the system is intended to work, it has massive implications for: • Focus fire tactics • Weapon selection • Capital ship combat Let me know your thoughts — is this a bug, placeholder, or the future of armor in Star Citizen?
