In February of 2017 God gave our family a dream come true- We have prayed for years for land in Southern California (not an easy thing to attain!) And then it happened! 20 beautiful acres of old grove oak trees and big beautiful boulders. In August of 2017 Joel and Darsha got engaged and informed us that they would love to get married on the land. We said "Uh- OK!" The truth was that it is entirely raw land that you couldn't even blaze a trail through very easily much less have a wedding on! But we rolled up our sleeves and got to work (along with some amazing help! Thank you Sommer Family!!! and soooo many others!) We cleared land and built walls and planted flowers and built a hoop house with a thousand feet of lights along with building a waterfall and stream bed and so many other things! It was the hardest physical challenge I have ever put my body through! I got really strong and lost some unwanted back fat! LOL It was also by far the most rewarding project I have ever worked on. The comradery that was developed by stacking rocks and hanging lights and cutting and welding steel and building tables and benches- it was hard work but I can honestly say I had a blast doing it! Then, on December 9, 2017 Joel and Darsha celebrated their wedding! It was the most special day for us. One that I will remember for a lifetime. Every bit of hard work was soooooo worth it! Having that mother/son dance out under the stars surrounded by all of our friends and family. It is an undescribable feeling I get just thinking back on the treasure of those memories. I love that Hannah made the cake and all of the desserts along with running her beautiful espresso machine, and Halli and I did the flowers, and Nick ran the sound and my band (The Road Home) played the wedding music, and Kim White was the coordinator, and Jenn Sommers and Jenn Guerrin ran the food and drink tables, and all of my Ramona neighbors helped with various needs and too many more friends helped than I can even list on this video. I feel so richly blessed when I consider how much of a beautiful community my family has! Thank you Everyone who contributed!!!
