Today we’re building on some successful model strategies and moving into the next phase: fine-tuning the model. Join me live as I continue developing an automated LightGBM (LGBM) workflow for stock market research in Python. We’ve already made solid progress with strategy development, and now the focus is on improving performance, refining the pipeline, and making the system more practical and repeatable. What we’re working on today: Model Fine-Tuning: Testing different feature pruning methods to improve performance. Fundamental Features: Incorporating fundamental features into the codebase and model. Improving Research Quality: Looking at ways to make results more reliable, more interpretable, and more useful for future testing and iteration. Workflow Refinement: Continuing to shape the project into something that can be run cleanly and consistently without unnecessary friction. Live Debugging + Iteration: As always, expect real-time testing, troubleshooting, and adjustments as we improve the framework step by step. If you’re into quant research, machine learning for trading, Python development, or stock market analysis, come hang out and watch the process live. Drop your questions in chat about algorithmic trading, modeling, Python, the broader project, or anything that is generally interesting. I’m happy to talk through the decisions as we go.
