【From Ureshino to Hiroshima】 The climax of a 7-night, 8-day trip to Kyushu! On the 6th day, from Ureshino, visit the Kyushu Ceramic Museum to learn about pottery, then visit Okawauchiyama, the home of hidden pots, to see the kilns. We will go to Karatsu, eat the famous Karatsu burger, and then go to Kagamiyama Observatory for a spectacular view of Karatsu Bay. I went to Fukuoka to explore the Nakasu area and was lucky enough to be there at the time when the Hakata Gion Yamakasa festival was about to begin! In the evening, we went to Hakata-yu, Kyushu's oldest Futsukaichi hot spring, and rested at Roadside Station Chikuzen Minaminosato. Heavy rain fell during the night, with Shimonoseki City receiving 85.5 mm of rain in one hour, the largest amount ever recorded in the city's history. The Sanyo Expressway was closed to traffic, and until the Kanmon Bridge and Kanmon Tunnel started moving, we took our time to visit the Dalian Friendship Memorial Museum, the former Mojiko Customs House, and JR Mojiko Station at Mojiko Port Retro. After the traffic jam was cleared, we crossed over to Honshu via the Kanmon Tunnel and visited the Akiyoshidai Karst topography. The main entrance to Akiyoshidai Karst Cave was closed. Was it really possible to enter Akiyoshidou? What was it like inside? Finally, we went to Hiroshima, the final destination of the trip, to visit the Atomic Bomb Dome and the Peace Memorial Park, where we felt the preciousness of peace, worrying about the repeated wrongs. After a nap at Miki SA on the expressway, we headed back to Tokyo.
