Previously, the party carried out Randolph's last quest, "Wondrous Weapon". They also flew the Regalia Type-F to a new area north of Ravatogh and found the entrance to Pitioss Ruins. Now, they will go back to Lestallum and pick up a quest before entering this complicated and confusing dungeon. West of the entrance to Pitioss Ruins, the party finds Monoth Haven (time 2:03). They camp here to register this campsite as their most recent rest location. On the eastern end of a plateau just north of the runway, they find a treasure spot that yields a Mega Phoenix (time 4:51). They find a Debased Banknote on the same plateau. Then, after saving, the party boards the Regalia Type-F and blasts off (time 5:49). Before taking off, make sure the car is as far back as it can go. Accelerate, and then take off as soon as the option is available. The party lands on a fairly straight secton of road near the Ravatoghan Trail parking spot (time 6:50). Then, they pull over near Lambath Haven (time 7:06). It will have to be nighttime to accept the quest in Lestallum. So, the party waits until nightfall at Lambath Haven (time 7:44). Simply "waiting" at a campsite does not overwrite the most recent rest location. Then, the party fast-travels to Lestallum (time 8:15). In the eastern section of town, there is a sort of squarish house east of the weapon shop. At 2100 hours and later, the party can listen at a window along the eastern side of the house (time 9:27). The occupants discuss a "big haul" near Ravatogh. This starts the sidequest "Stealing the Past". The party must search for a suspicious building. The first step is to talk to the locals at Verinas Mart - Ravatogh. The party fast-travels to Verinas Mart - Ravatogh (time 11:04). They visit the tipster at Erupto Eats (time 11:43). Choosing the Talk option, they get the quest destination marked on the map. Now, they can go obtain the thieves' treasure. On the map screen, the party now chooses to go to the most recent rest point (time 12:16). They arrive where they rested at Monoth Haven. When they are done, they will be able to return to the car at Verinas Mart - Ravatogh. After resting until nightfall, the party travels back to Pitioss Ruins in the northeast. After climbing the first staircase, they find a box tucked away (time 13:45). They acquire a Magitek Core. "Stealing the Past" complete! The party earns 50,000 EXP apiece. I save the game before entering Pitioss Ruins. As Noctis proceeds towards the entrance, he will have to go on alone (time 15:12). He finds the datalog entry "Pitioss Ruins" (time 15:19). To get inside, Noctis must approach a circular switch on the wall (time 15:59). It activates a lift that takes him down. However, it only works at night. Noctis explores the first portion of Pitioss Ruins. This dungeon is a massive puzzle with lots of platforming, pits, and spikes. The problem is that Noctis's controls do not provide for good platforming. Expect a fair share of fails. In this first trip, Noctis finds plenty of items, though not all are of great value. However, he does find several Oracle Ascension Coins. He starts with 35 coins. By the time he is done, he is up to Oracle Ascension Coin #059. After some work, he manages to open the way to the third room of the ruins. Pitioss Ruins is now identified on the map. The third room of the ruins features a large sphere that begins rotating when Noctis hits the switch behind it. Once this is done, he can gather numerous treasures scattered around the area, including a large number of Oracle Ascension Coins. The ultimate objective is to drop through the top of the sphere, squeeze between some spikes, and loose a ball that will provide a platform for Noctis to go forward. Near the ball's initial location is Magic Flask #14! Yes! This is the last Magic Flask available in a normal playthrough of the game. To get more, one must play a New Game+. When he is done for the video, Noctis heads outside so that he can save. Next time, he will continue fumbling his way through this dungeon. Thanks for watching! Recording date: April 20, 2019
