Gauntlet (Arcade) - Quick Wizard Play

Just a very quick video of me playing as the wizard in the old 80's Gauntlet game. I have it set to the lowest difficultly for the machine. I was also setting it to 2000 health per coin and give myself 10000 health total and see how far I get/how many points I get... but after 5 failed recordings of that with CamStudio, I reverted that back to the original 700 just to be able to record it at least. I guess I should also note that beyond one attempt to see if the game was working right, before attempting to record this I haven't played the game in nearly twenty years on the Amiga... yet quite the number of things were still easily remembered (stage layout notwithstanding, of course.. at least in the first few levels before it gets randomized). But yea.. it's a shame really. All the really fun areas aren't seen here.. or the lobbers and the thief. The funky teleports are also not seen, and I didn't even use a potion.. which I probably should have when I was close to dying. Oh well. If I can ever get CamStudio to cooperate, or I find better recording software without a time limit, I might have an updated run of this with the aforementioned settings... but that is seeming highly doubtful at this point. Anyway, I'm looking forward to the new take on Gauntlet. A lot of things changed, but that's to be expected.. like Death being immortal, potions no longer being 'bombs', and the idea of the generators being changed... as they are no longer a permenant fixture of a map, which led to times in the original where the map was so full of monsters that they couldn't even move until a door was opened or they were killed one at a time. Still looks fun to me though, but eh.. we'll see. EDIT: Oh right! In the old games (Gauntlet and Gauntlet II), I always rocked the wizard for whatever reason. Looking forward to both Wizard and Valkyrie in the reboot. :)
