So, after I got the 1cc on the MBL version of the game, I figured that my consistency at earlier stages has gotten good enough that I could probably challenge the original. Slightly sloppy in some places, but I absolutely played out of my mind on the two bosses I struggle the most with (Bavaria and Jitterbug). I end up doing two stages at each rank, mostly out of habit at this point, but I tried doing them in a slightly different order than I normally do and I don't know what changed but I ended up getting the 2nd extend a lot earlier than I normally do. I'm thinking of recording and uploading a commentary of this run at some point where I can talk through some of the tricks and routing I learned. I think Deathsmiles might be my favourite shmup I've ever played, and even now that I've 1cc'd it I keep finding myself loading it up again, it's intoxicating!
