This is a travel router from gl.inet. It lets you connect it to the internet in your hotel room, coffee shop, cruise ship, school, college, and then you can connect all yours and your family's devices to your travel router to get internet. This adds some security because malicious people on the wifi you're using won't see what devices you are using, they only see the router. It also lets you place your travel router in the best place to get signal in your room or where ever and then all your devices have a strong signal from your travel router and the router provides fast internet because of where you placed it in the room. WINNING! Could come in handy for people in shared college/university accommodations. You can use your travel router to get a great signal and then add a guest wifi to your travel router to let your room mate or friends make use of your great signal, while not allowing them to see your personal devices. So you are more secure. Also, if you get fancy, you can connect a VPN service you have access to (which will be slower speed btw..) and if you do not want to make use of it all the time, you can configure your travel router to enforce anyone using the guest wifi you set up to use the VPN. So if they end up doing anything dodgy, it would be entirely separate from anything you are doing, not only would your location be safer because the IP would not be your actual IP but any virus they download won't have visibility to your own devices because they are on the guest wifi you set up! Also, since it is only 1 device, apparently on cruises where there may be restrictions on only having 1 device connected, well your travel router might be able to be that one device! You might have 3 phones and 2 laptops connected to your travel router but you only connected that 1 device to their network! That might come in handy...
