A piece based on Icelandic folklore, though I wouldn't know its origins (if it is indeed based on folklore, and not something entirely thought up by the composer in an Icelandic style). I love the use of the lower registers in this piece, the harsh dissonances, and how it really tells a story (a ballad, if you will). It's a very dramatic piece, aided by the dissonances, though there are also beautiful moments where everything is resolved into beautiful harmony. It's been an absolute joy learning this piece and I'm sure I'll keep on playing it in the future. Recorded on 16 June 2019
