Cast Iron Steak 1-2 tablespoons avocado oil (or other oil with a high smoke point) 1-1 ½ inch thick Ribeye steak 4 tablespoons butter ½ teaspoon garlic Kosher salt Black pepper - fresh cracked 12” Cast Iron Skillet - Cooklife Allow steak to come to room temperature prior to cooking. Once the steak has reached room temperature, generously salt and pepper the top side of the steak. Set cast iron skillet on the stove at medium high temp (about 8 on a dial) and allow to heat. Once the skillet is hot, add oil to the cast iron skillet to coat the pan. Place steak in the pan seasoned side down. Generously salt and pepper the upward facing side (this was not previously seasoned) of the steak. Cook for 3-minutes without moving the steak. After 3-minutes, flip the steak by rotating the position. After the 3-minutes on the opposite side, flip the steak by rotating the position in the pan. Turn down the heat to medium (about 5 on a dial) and cook for an additional 3-minutes. After the 3-minutes have passed, flip the steak again, being sure to rotate in the pan, for an additional 3- minutes. During the last 30-40 seconds of cooking, add butter to the pan. Allow the butter to melt and then add garlic. Using a spoon, gently coat the steak with garlic butter until the 3-minute time elapses. Remove the steak from the cast iron, place on a platter/plate, cover loosely with aluminum foil, and allow to rest for 3-minutes. Remove the cast iron from the stove, place on a cutting board or trivet and allow to cool. After the final 3-minutes of resting, slice the steak, and enjoy! 3-3-3 Rule for a perfectly cooked steak 3-minutes on both sides (hot heat - about 8 on your stove dial) 3-minutes on both sides (reduce heat to medium - about 5 on your stove dial) 3-minutes rest time covered loosely with aluminum foil SHOPIFY Link for COOKLIFE Cast Iron Skillet: https://cooklife.us/SS123 Discount Code = SS123 AMAZON STATEMENT - As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases.
