A short summary documentary of SENhub @ Sunningdale School's recent conference on Pre-formal Approaches to Teaching Learners with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD). The day featured talks and workshops on a range of relevant topics and strategies for teaching those with PMLD including using the Musical Play Framework, the Importance of Nurturing Touch, PMLD and Mental Health and Sensory Stories. The pervasive theme of the day was using research to support everyday practice. The day featured a detailed breakdown of the Equals Pre-formal Curriculum available here: https://equals.co.uk/pre-formal-pmld-... An aspiration of the day was the establishment of an online inquiry community linked to teaching/ supporting those with PMLD. More information regarding this will be available here https://www.senhub.org.uk/ from June 2023. Sunningdale School is based at: Doxford Park Way, Sunderland, Tyne and Wear, SR3 2PP.
