The MG Metro 6R4 - Awaking the Forests.

The Metro 6R4 was Austin Rovers Group B rally contender. Work begin in 1981 and if it had appeared on schedule in 1983 things might have been different for the car. By the time the car made is WRC debut however in November 1985 it was already playing catchup. A third place on the RAC that year was its best ever WRC finish and also gave false hope. Its underpowered V6 engine against the rest of the Group B field put it on a back foot and the car was plagued by reliability issue's all through 1986. Although the problems were slowly ironed out in the later half of the year it was too late. The car did go on to have a long career after Group B ended however and is now fondly remembered for its looks and sounds.
