Ajitkumar Kadkade is well-known for his mastery over Natya sangeet (stage songs) and devotional music. He is the disciple of legendary singer and music director Pt. Jitendra Abhisheki. Kadkade opened the concert with an intense aalap of the evening Raga Multani followed by Ganesh Vandana. On popular demand he sang stage songs like Ghei Chand Makarand and others. Talking about his first album he said, “I believe that it’s the almighty God who decides your fortune. When I was a newcomer and was eager to release my debut album, for which senior musician Pt. Prabhakar Pandit has composed the music, none of the cassette companies were ready to take it. But as soon as it was released, it turned out to be a super hit. I love to sing devotional songs because I have faith in saints like Saibaba, Swami Samartha and have experienced their blessings several times.” Kadkade delighted his fans by presenting colourful compositions like Dattachi Palkhi, Vrundavani Venu and Yawe Swamiraya, that was set in Raga Chandrakaunsa. Kadkade became emotional when he narrated the story behind Sarvatmaka Sarveshwara, a Bhairavi composition of Abhishekibua. “During those days, it was a rule to get up early in the morning and start riyaz. Rohidas Parab ably accompanied Kadkade on the Tabla, Dinkar Bhagat on the Pakhavaj, Prakash Vagal on the Harmonium, master Ravi on the side rhythm and Kishor Desai on side Singer.
