Having a child who is a temporary or permanent resident. Having a job offer in Mexico Correction: There are some cases in which you aren't required to go to a consulate outside of Mexico (qualifying by "family unity"). Correction: Vehicle permit fees are $50 + 200-400 deposit. You have 15 days, not 30, to extend your TIP, otherwise, you lose your deposit. Correction: The Las Vegas Mexican consulate is no longer more lenient than others. To become a permanent resident in Mexico, you don't necessarily need pension income if you have substantial investments or a large chunk of money in the bank. Some consulates have approved people under age 50, but others want you to be 60+.
