We're nearly halfway through the 2020s, dubbed the most decisive decade for action on climate change. Where exactly do things stand? You will learn the latest science from Kari Stoever, Chief of Partnerships & Policy at the Planetary Boundary Initiative. She works closely with Johan Rockström, Director of the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research, the pioneer behind the planetary boundaries, and the 2024 Tyler Award winner. The presentation offers the most up-to-date scientific assessment of the state of the planet and explains what must be done to preserve Earth's resilience to human pressure. Kari is a social entrepreneur with 20 years of leadership experience in global health, international development, and systems change, having worked in all regions of the world and on four US Presidential initiatives. She currently serves as Chief of Strategic Partnerships & Policy at the Planetary Boundary Initiative, where they are launching the Planetary Health Check, an innovative tool designed to transform environmental decision-making. Kari is also pursuing a Doctorate in Systems Change and Global Futures at Georgetown University, focusing on policies to guide humanity toward a resilient and sustainable future.
