She had been invited to the London Music Video Awards with her team as their video „Murderer in the Moonlight“ had been nominated for best cinematography - a very exciting journey for her lay ahead and she was full of energy. Being the disoriented dreamer she is, she could not find the bus at the airport which would take her to the centre of the city. So, she approached this friendly and cool looking girl to ask her for help. They had a little chat, realized they were both from Berlin and had actually been on the same flight, then proceeded to go their ways. MERIT thought to herself „oh, we could have actually exchanged socials“ as this girl had seemed very nice and interesting to her. But the girl was already gone, so they both just went on with their journeys. Little did MERIT know - and little did this other girl know - that their paths would cross again in the future. About half a year later, 5:30 in the morning, MERIT sits in her apartment, ready to shoot her music video for her next song „Ghosts“. The bags for the shooting day are packed, she is about to get styled for her ghost look, equipment and a car is rented for the day and the whole team is ready to bring this project of life - except for one person, the protagonist of this music video narrative. The actor who would’ve played by MERIT’s side texts her and asks to postpone the shoot, 2 hours before being picked up. The whole shoot has to be cancelled for that day. But what seems like setback, turns out to be a full circle moment for MERIT and… Mimoé. Urgently searching for a new talent for this main role in „Ghosts“, someone suggests this one girl, Mimoé. MERIT immediately recognizes her. It’s the exact girl she had met at the London airport in summer. And as fate would have it, Mimoé actually gets casted and happens to be the new actress in MERITs music video. In retrospective, their encounter suddenly gets a whole new meaning. MERIT visualizes the moment they met as some sort of energy exchange, like a little golden thread that connected both of them and made it inevitable for them to meet again at one point. The fact that both, „Murderer in the Moonlight“ and „Ghosts“ are a collaboration between Julia Jalyschko, Elisa Daniel & MERIT, makes this story even sweeter. Every person mentioned has been in London at the same time and then coincidentally came back to work together in Berlin. One last little detail brought this cute little story full circle… at the exact spot at which the holding-face-shot at 3:20 was filmed, where Mimoé and MERIT where standing, a little M+M was carved into the railing.
