【VARIVAS FRONTLINE TROUT STRATEGY, Extra Edition】How to tie the ‘Double Uni-Knot,’ Honnnami trusts.

Introducing the Double Uni-Knot which is used on a regular basis by Koichi Honnami, a member of the VARIVAS field staff! He uses the Double Uni-Knot not only when targeting meter-plus Ito Fish in Hokkaido Prefecture, also when targeting large trout such as White-spotted Char and Cherry Salmon, as well as mountain stream trout like Iwana/Japanese Char and Yamame. Koichi Honnami is particular about the number of times the line is passed through – not three times, not fives, but ‘four times.’ He also said, “Don’t limit yourself to these knots; instead, try to find knots that you can tie consistently and trust.” The line used is “VARIVAS SUPER TROUT Advance BIG TROUT KATCHI-IRO,” a Nylon line that Koichi Honnami was involved in the development of at VARIVAS. The Nylon line reproduces the reddish-brown color ‘Katchi-iro’ used in fishermen’s nets. This line color, which is difficult for fish to detect, fools many large trout.
