Cultivating Prairie Views in the Garden

In August 2020, Baraboo Buds Pat Taylor and Kathy Calabrese visited the sunny hilltop yard in Baraboo, Wisconsin where Kathy Skrivseth has created three prairie garden areas, each with its own character. After living in a shady woodland setting for 25 years, Kathy and her husband Craig moved to Baraboo 12 years ago and set out to make the most of their sun-drenched prospect and nurture native prairie plants that are welcome in a subdivision, help control rainwater runoff, and attract pollinators. Kathy and Pat invite other Baraboo gardeners to join in the Baraboo Buds fun by sending photos of their gardens and special plants for posting on the library website and Facebook page.
