Grammar: Not Just Fun and Games

As teachers, we often use games as “sponge activities” to soak up the time when we finish a lesson early. However, at this year’s Grammar Day webinar, Dr. Randi Reppen demonstrated how you can make grammar games purposeful activities that engage your students in meaningful practice. These games can involve both individual and groups of students and can take place both inside and outside the classroom. For example, Word Scrambles can focus on tense use; Write Around the Room can provide contextualized writing practice.
