Step by Step! Today we'll be working on a John Deere LA130 riding mower with a Briggs and Stratton V-Twin engine. Do you have grass and dirt stuck to the side of your engine and frame? That's a telltale sign you may have an oil leak! The oil drain tube on this engine has come loose, and is causing oil to leak all over the side of the engine, as well as the frame. We'll start off by power washing the engine to clean up the area we'll be working on, then we'll run the engine for a few minutes to heat up the oil so we can drain the oil, and replace the oil filter. We won't be adding oil until the loose oil drain tube is fixed! I'm using Permatex Red Thread locker, which takes approx. 24hrs to fully cure.
