Mandi went into the aviary to find Zena giving birth; she has been hanging out with Blind Jake, so it's possible that this is his baby. The birth was quite a traumatic birth; the baby's shoulder and wrist were out, but its head was folded back on itself. It was an emergency, so there was no time to set up the camera or record the tricky birth. Mandi knocked her out and had to rotate baby and pull it out almost sideways. Zena doesn't like being in the hospital so Mandi took her outside with her baby, before the placenta was delivered so she had more of the birth experience and could clean her baby. You'll notice Gelert is lying on a sling adjacent and is studiously ignoring the situation, trying to avoid having his sleep affected. Mandi didn't know if the baby would survive, but that was a week ago now and baby is still alive and doing well. Not 10 minutes later, Florentine delivered her baby and the umbilical cord was wrapped tightly around baby's wrist; another emergency, where Mandi had to untangle the cord from baby against a bit of opposition at her interference from Florentine. This baby is still alive now too. Teddy is lying down nearby and is being "mr wiggles"; you'll have to view it for yourself to understand. Gelert keeps putting his wrists over his eyes and denying paternity or interest. Mandi puts some juice in the old dudes cage; the new mums are ready for some energy, but Teddy and Gelert are slow to rise so Nanabat and Zena sculled most of it. Nanabat voices her displeasure at having to share, but the distraction allowed Mandi to check the Zena's baby. Cinders accidentally thumb boxes Gelert in the face, and in the second clip, Gelert yells and startles Zena, making her jump. Baby Hector, who broke his tibia, has an emotional support sloth to help him through the early days. (don't worry he is now hooning around the aviary with his splinted leg, acting like there's nothing wrong with him). Mandi babysits a little Black overnight; Mandi knows all the secret and hidden lick and scratch buttons, and how to leave a baby satisfied with a chubby fat milk belly and impending milk coma... And Teddy enjoys a personal tickle and massage session where the lick and kick buttons are activated...
