🏞 In this episode we explore three Florida State Parks in early December of 2023. We enjoy the boardwalks and trails of Big Lagoon, stroll along the gorgeous Gulf Coast at Perdido Key, and search out wildlife at Manatee Springs. We are even treated to a glimpse underwater at Manatee Springs! ⛺ We stayed in Loop 2 of the state park campground at Big Lagoon State Park. Our site had 30amp electricity and water hookups. Use of the dump station was included with the camping fee. A boardwalk hiking trail from the campground traversed the saltwater marsh and led to the West Beach area of the park. East Beach and the observation tower were a longer walk, or a short drive away. In Manatee Springs State Park, we stayed in the Magnolia 1 Loop of the state park campground. We had a full hook-up site, but the sewer connection was very tall and uphill from the camping pad, which made fully dumping the tanks difficult. A walk around the campground revealed that this was the norm for almost all of the full hook-up sites.
