In this episode, I take a short walking highlights tour in the city of Veracruz in Mexico. The city of Veracruz is located on the Gulf of Mexico 250 miles east of Mexico City. Veracruz city has been called the "Gateway to Mexico" because of its deep water port. Cargo ships have docked here ever since the Spanish conquered Mexico in the early 1500's. When visiting the city of Veracruz, be prepared to speak Spanish because very few people there speak English. Also, exchange your foreign currency for Mexican Pesos. Almost everywhere US dollars will not be accepted.
