Il mélange ainsi les motifs classiques des styles de M’Godro, Shigoma ou Chengué, avec des sons de blues-rock occidentaux. Dans un contexte géopolitique que l’on pourrait qualifier de tendu, c’est sa façon de créer de nouvelles vibrations et d’exhorter les gens à se réunir au lieu d’être déchirés par la politique. Ainsi, son album sorti récemment s’appelle Sika Mila (qui signifie « préservez votre culture ») : une manière pour lui de mettre en valeur la culture mahoraise en pleine mutation et de diffuser un message d’espoir et d’unité. Préparez-vous pour un set puissant, alliant groove coloré, voix intense et guitare épicée! --------- Over the years, M’Toro Chamou has forged a unique and personal music style he baptised Afro M’Godro Rock ; a tribute to traditional rhythms from his native island, Mayotte. He thereby mixes the classic patterns of M’Godro, Shigoma or Chengué styles, together with western blues-rock sounds. In a geopolitical context that could be described as tensed, this is his way to create new vibrations and exhort people to come together instead of being torn by politics. Hence, his recently released album is called Sika Mila (which means “preserve your culture”) : a manner for him to highlight the fast-changing mahoran culture and spread a message of hope and unity.
