We've come to the end of another project, and one that I'm sure going to miss. The Porsche 924 Turbo is essentially done and in this video, we're wrapping up the last little bits of the interior as well as some nagging issues I've noticed over the last few months of driving. Once the seats were finally recovered it made the door panels look old and tatty. But Kyle from Only944.com hooked me up again with some extra tartan fabric and we got the door panels recovered. Boy do they look amazing and really finish off the interior. The reverse lights weren't working properly and thankfully it was just a dirty switch that was the culprit. The wiper motor worked but it's VERY slow (at least compared to a new one). I got the motor apart and cleaned / relubed the transmission and it essentially made no difference! There are still a few problems with the car that I just don't have the will to address. 1. The car takes 3-4 seconds to crank and is most likely the accumulator that is the culprit. They're not expensive or hard to change, but I'll leave that to the next owner. 2. The transmission is slow shifting, especially when cold. If you try to rush the upshift or downshift it may grind. A little blip of the throttle when downshifting makes a world of difference, and I can drive it very easily without any grinding. But if you're expecting a modern feeling transmission, this isn't yours. Remember, the early cars used bus transmissions! 3. I still need to get the front lower valance painted and installed. I have it, but it's not perfect. Hoping I can get one repainted and installed before the car sells. 4. The passenger side seat cover is ripped, and a new seat cover is on the way from Only944.com. If it arrives before the car is sold, I'll change it out. Otherwise, I'll send it along to the new owner. 5. I'm sure there are a lot of other little things that make the car not perfect, but it is a wonderful driver and will make someone very happy.
