Bare Necessity, A Yogurt Soap, Hot Process - Formula by Valerie Mosher #1 Always make sure you put through a Soap Calculator before using! I Soaped this formula at 35% lye liquid and Super Fatted at 8%. (5% upfront and 3% after the cook) Used Sodium Lactate at 5% of oils. This was a 2lb batch. Sweet Almond Oil - 11% Babassu - 10% Castor Oil - 15% Kokum Butter - 5% Lard - 25% Murumuru Butter - 3% Olive Oil (100% Pure) - 11% Palm Oil - 10% Tallow, Beef - 10% This will give you numbers of: 38 Hardness, 10 Cleansing, 59 Conditioning, 24 Bubbly, 41 Creaminess, 61 Iodine, and INS of 139. The lye liquid amount for this 2lb batch, at 35% lye liquid, was 11.2 ounces of liquid. I used 5.2 ounces of water to mix my lye, 2 ounces of cooked/strained oatmeal liquid added to the oils before the lye, 2 ounces of coconut milk mixed with 2 ounces of yogurt and added half to the cook and half after the cook (but next time I will save all the yogurt to add after the cook)…I also added another heaping 2 tbsp yogurt (room temp) after the cook. 2 Tbsp sugar mixed with 1.5 Tbsp of Apple Cider Vinegar, completely dissolved and added hot after the cook. 5% Sodium lactate added warm after the cook (1.6 ounces & not discounted from the total liquid amount), SL is used as a hardener in this, but a bonus is that SL is great for aging skin and is a lovely humectants. ! Tbsp honey/1tsp Lanolin/1tsp Vitamin E oil / AVJ mixed well/warmed up and added after the cook when the temp was around 175F. 3% Xtra SF was with Perilla Seed Oil. Enjoy!
