Detailed Summary// It all began so innocently. Two boys, young and in love. From the very moment they met, Dan Howell and Phil Lester felt a very powerful spark. Both have invested much of their time to the Youtube community, each with their own colossal, and still growing fanbase. Their budding friendship, full of laughs, dancing, and playful banter, soon leads to something more when the two boys address the more than obvious infatuation looming between them. From then on, both boys are the one thing that everyone in the world aspires to be, happy. Growing up, Dan has always considered himself to be an outcast, displaying many odd habits such as talking to himself, which was easy to get a handle on. His one flaw was his contained, but still evident, morbid and psychotic thoughts. The younger boy never had any violent intentions towards another human being that he had acted on. In fact, if anything, he just wanted everyone in the world to share his immediate happiness. One night, something monstrous overtakes the boy, sending him out on a walk to clear his thoughts. The walk quickly goes awry when he spots a more than familiar face, a boy whose only goal at the time had seemed to be making Dan's life miserable. This time, he is unable to control his urges and returns home with blood stained hands. At first, he is overwhelmed by an amount of guilt that contains the capacity to drive him completely insane. But then, the boy looks upon his violent actions as a new awakening. He continues his secret, newly discovered, profession keeping it a secret from his lover, afraid to scare him away. It doesn't take long for headlines to arise -The London Killer Strikes Again! Soon enough, Phil manages to piece two and two together - the late night walks, returning home in the dead middle of the night, Dan's more frequent showers and sudden irritable behaviour. He confronts his doe eyed boyfriend, insisting that he doesn't need to ruin his life like this. Dan decides to take Phil out one night, a target already in sight. Phil plays along, frightened to upset his unpredictable and apparent serial killer lover. After the night's events, Phil has trouble sleeping as morbid images of blood and dead, cold faces, invade his dreams. He is torn between losing the love of his life or staying quiet, and living the most disturbed version of happily ever after with his soulmate. For a few weeks, he plays along, and the pair appear to others as a young couple completed consumed by each other, envied by many. When Dan's murders continue, becoming more and more consistent, Phil resorts to calling the police. He waits for Dan to fall asleep before making the call and stating that his flatmate has gone insane. Before he has the time for a full confession, Dan finds him, and he has officially marked himself as Dan's next victim. Furious by the betrayal of his lover and terrified of the life that awaits him in a prison cell, he cannot risk getting caught. Dan drugs Phil, locking him away in the privacy of their room. He has convinced himself that killing Phil would be the ultimate act to show his undying affection towards the boy. Using his own two hands, Dan drives a knife into Phil's heart, kissing him and whispering desperate 'I love you's' to the boy who had brought life and joy to him when he assumed only darkness awaited him in the future. It doesn't take long for the regret to set in, but this regret was like no other. It weighed heavy on his chest, making it difficult to breathe.
