Yarda Orchestra performing the "Afro-Cuban Suite"

At their end-of-year concert in December 2025, the Yarda Orchestra performed the Afro-Cuban Suite, composed by Carlos Garcia. The piece was provided to us by El Sistema Greece, a community music project in Athens that offers free music education to kids and youth from diverse backgrounds in an inclusive environment. It was a great experience for the children of the Yarda orchestra to perform this piece and feel connected to the children in Greece. At the same time, the children of El Sistema Greece performed two pieces from the Sounds of Palestine repertoire in their concert, beautifully expressing their connection. This exchange of repertoire between the two projects demonstrates the dialogue we have begun despite the distance and shows how music connects us across borders.
